Wood Privacy Fence Installation in North Texas
Cedar and pressure-treated pine privacy fences, built side-by-side or board-on-board, with gates that keep working and a process that doesn’t leave you managing the crew.
Material & style options
Choose the Look. We Handle the Rest.
Every option below is available in 6′ and 8′ heights, in side-by-side or board-on-board construction, with walk gates, gate upgrades, and cap and trim details. Not sure which fence you want? Tell us what matters most — privacy, appearance, durability, or budget — and we’ll help you narrow it down.
Cedar Privacy Fencing. Cedar weathers well and gives a backyard a warmer, more finished feel. A natural step up in looks and material quality over pressure-treated pine.
Pressure-Treated Pine Fencing. A practical, economical way to get privacy back. Solid structure, straight lines, and a price that works when project budget is the primary concern. Cedar is generally TrueSet’s preferred premium wood-fence material for North Texas conditions; pressure-treated pine may be considered when budget leads the decision.
Side-by-Side Fencing. Pickets installed side by side. A clean, traditional look and an efficient use of material for straight runs of privacy fencing.
Board-on-Board Fencing. Overlapping pickets help limit sightline gaps as boards move over time. The degree of coverage depends on the overlap, workmanship, and condition of the fence.
Pre-Stained Fence Options. Stain is applied before construction, so the fence looks finished on installation day instead of on a future weekend.
Gates
Gates Built to Keep Working
A gate that looks great on install day and drags on the ground six months later is a failure, not a finish. We address gate hardware, bracing, and alignment upfront so the gate keeps working after months of North Texas weather.
Walk Gates. Single-person walk gates built to keep working, with hardware and bracing chosen to hold up to everyday use.
Double Gates. Wider double gates where access is needed for equipment, trailers, or larger yard equipment — hung and braced to stay aligned.
Planning your fence
Height, Layout & Tear-Out Considerations
Fence height & layout
Most residential privacy fences are built at 6′ or 8′. Layout decisions — runs, corners, gate placement, and how the fence meets existing structures or neighbor lines — affect both appearance and price. We’ll walk through the layout with you before anything is finalized.
Tear-out & replacement
Replacing an existing fence? We can price demolition, haul-off, and disposal of the old fence as part of your project. Every new installation is initially priced with cleanup and haul-off of debris from the new work. See our fence replacement page for what that process involves.
HOA considerations
In most cases, TrueSet is able to handle the permit and HOA approval process for you. Requirements vary by city and neighborhood, so we’ll confirm what applies to your project — including any required documents or fees — before installation.
What affects fence pricing
Price is driven by fence length, height, material, style (side-by-side vs. board-on-board), the number and type of gates, cap and trim details, tear-out and haul-off, ground conditions, and access. A lower price usually means something gave — we don’t cut what matters to win the bid. Not sure how much fence you have? See our guide to measuring your yard for an estimate. How TrueSet works
Our Estimating & Installation Process
You make a few decisions. We handle the rest — and we don’t disappear after the crew leaves.
Estimate
Choose your fence options and get a ballpark price in about two minutes. We’ll confirm measurements, site conditions, access, and your final selections before locking in your tailored price.
Property & Scope Review
We confirm footage, layout, gates, access, removal needs, and any HOA or permit requirements so the scope is decided before the crew arrives — not improvised in your backyard.
Installation
Our crew installs to TrueSet’s standard, keeping you updated on where things stand and what’s coming next.
Cleanup & Completion
Every installation is initially priced with cleanup, haul-off, and disposal of debris from the new installation. We finish with a walkthrough, not just a bill.
After the install
Every qualifying TrueSet fence includes a 6-month tune-up. After six months of weather and everyday use, we come back to check the fence, gates, and hardware and take care of any minor adjustments that need attention.

Wood Privacy Fence Questions
Which wood privacy fence options does TrueSet install?
TrueSet offers cedar and pressure-treated pine privacy fencing in side-by-side and board-on-board styles. Options include 6-foot and 8-foot heights, walk gates, double gates, cap and trim, and pre-stained options where available. The final design must fit your property and applicable requirements.
What is the difference between side-by-side and board-on-board?
Side-by-side fencing places the pickets next to each other. Board-on-board overlaps them to help cover the gaps that can appear as wood dries. The overlapping design uses more material; the better fit depends on privacy, appearance, and budget.
Does a new wood fence include removal of the old fence?
Not automatically. Existing-fence demolition, haul-off, and disposal are separate scope items to confirm in the proposal. Debris from the new installation is different from an old fence that needs to be removed.
Can I choose the fence height before checking my HOA?
You can compare options, but the height, layout, material, and finish should be checked against your property’s city and HOA requirements before the design is finalized. A city permit and HOA approval are separate steps when both apply.
How do I start a wood fence estimate?
Start with approximate footage, your preferred style and height, gate needs, and whether an old fence needs removal. The online result is a planning range. TrueSet confirms measurements, site conditions, and selections before providing final pricing.
