Fence Services
Fence Staining & Restoration in North Texas
Staining improves the appearance of wood fencing and helps protect it from North Texas sun and weather. TrueSet treats staining as a standalone service — done properly, not rushed.
What we do
Protect & Refresh Your Wood Fence
Whether your fence is brand new or has a few seasons of weather on it, staining can bring out the wood’s color and add a layer of protection against sun and moisture. We evaluate the fence first — not every fence is ready to stain as-is.
New Fence Staining
Stain applied to newly installed wood fencing so it looks finished and is protected from the start.
Weathered Fence Staining
Restoration staining for fences that have weathered — refreshing the color and helping protect wood that’s been exposed to North Texas sun.
Pressure Washing
Cleaning to remove dirt, mildew, and loose material before any stain is applied.
Surface Preparation
Prepping the wood surface so stain can absorb evenly and perform the way it should.
How it works
A Standard Two-Day Process
Fence staining is normally a minimum two-day process. The wood has to dry after washing before stain can go on, and weather or moisture can extend the schedule. We won’t promise staining always happens the very next day — the conditions decide.
Pressure Wash & Preparation
The fence is pressure washed and prepared for staining. Loose material, dirt, and mildew are removed so the surface is ready.
Let the Wood Dry
After washing, the wood must dry sufficiently before stain is applied. Stain applied to damp wood won’t absorb or perform correctly.
Staining
Stain is applied once moisture and weather conditions are appropriate. Timing depends on how quickly the wood dries and what the weather allows.
Weather & moisture may extend the schedule. Stain applied to damp wood won’t perform, so we wait for the right conditions rather than rushing the job.
Condition & product
Fence Condition, Color & Product Selection
Fence condition evaluation
We look at the fence before quoting. Boards that are rotting, loose, or badly split may need repairs or replacement before staining makes sense. If prep work or repairs are required, we’ll tell you up front rather than staining over problems.
Color & product selection
Stain color and product affect both appearance and how often the fence will need refreshing. We’ll walk through options so you can choose a look and a product that fits the fence and your maintenance expectations.
When repairs are needed
If sections are failing, staining won’t save them. In those cases we’ll point you toward fence replacement for the affected runs and stain the rest. Not sure whether your fence is a repair candidate or headed for replacement? Read our fence repair vs. replacement guide.
Access & masking
Landscaping, adjoining surfaces, and tight access all affect prep. We mask and protect surrounding areas so stain goes where it should and not where it shouldn’t.
How pricing works
What Affects Staining Cost
We don’t publish an exact per-square-foot price on the website yet. Staining cost depends primarily on:
- Total stainable fence surface area
- Fence condition and preparation required
- Fence height and design
- Stain product selected
- Access and masking requirements
TrueSet positions staining as a professional-quality service — done with proper prep and the right product — rather than competing primarily on the lowest price. For a fuller picture of what fence staining tends to cost across North Texas, see our North Texas fence staining cost guide.

Fence Staining Questions
Does TrueSet stain new fences and existing fences?
Yes. The service covers new-fence staining and restoration staining for suitable existing wood. The preparation and finish need to match the material, existing coatings, and condition of the fence.
Can washing and staining be completed on the same day?
TrueSet normally schedules washing and staining as separate visits. The wood needs to dry sufficiently after cleaning, and weather or moisture can extend the process. The selected stain’s application requirements—not a fixed next-day promise—determine when it is ready.
Do staining estimates cover one side or both sides?
The selected scope determines which sides are included. Tell us the fence length, height, sides to be stained, design, and access conditions. Two quotes are not directly comparable when one includes both sides and the other does not.
Can staining fix rotten posts or a leaning fence?
Staining is a finish, not a structural repair. Failed posts, damaged rails, and significant rot need to be evaluated before spending money on restoration. Some fences need repairs or replacement first.
What information helps with a staining estimate?
Provide approximate fence length and height, whether you want one or both sides stained, the existing finish, and photos showing the condition and nearby landscaping or structures. TrueSet confirms preparation needs before final pricing.
